As part of the postgraduate course in Electronic Music at the Guildhall School, students have to run their own group session project. Second year postgrad student Sohee Baek decided to run a project delving into the folk music culture of her native Korea.
She chose a handful of Korean folk stories, and collaborated with students from all years of the department to curate a concert that took place at Saint Giles Church, Cripplegate, on Wednesday 12th March 2025.
Myself an first year film composition student Eva Donahugh were paired together to write the music for the folk tale The Tiger and the Persimmon.
Below are a number of photos from the performance, and a live recording of the piece.
(important to note - the recording is not the best quality and we are still yet to receive a higher quality recording)
